  7. ABOUT THE PROGRAM -

  9.     I wrote this program for all those people who wanted a way to keep
  10. a computerized diary without compromising the privacy of their entries.  DAILY
  11. JOURNAL provides an easy to learn interface that allows the user to store,
  12. retreive, find, and delete their entries in the Journal.  The program is
  13. password protected and the entries are encoded with a very powerful algorithm
  14. and therefore can not be read by anyone else.
  15.     The program comes with a complete Help System available by selecting
  16. "How to use Journal" from the Help menu.  This file contains information on the
  17. program's operation and also information on registering this shareware version.

  21. SHAREWARE INFORMATION -
  22.  
  23.     You may use Daily Journal for private, non-commercial purposes.  You may
  24. copy, share, and distribute Daily Journal, so long as you charge no more than
  25. the cost of a diskette or the transfer media, not to exceed $2.
  26.     Bulletin Boards may distribute Daily Journal so long as nothing is 
  27. charged beyond standard connect and/or membership fees.  DAILY JOURNAL must be
  28. distributed in its original form and content.
  29.     If you use the program for more than 30 days, you must register your
  30. copy with the author.  See "Shareware Information" in the Help system by 
  31. choosing "How to Use Journal" from the Help menu in the program.

  44. HOW TO INSTALL THE "Daily Journal" -
  45.  
  46.     1) Make a directory for the program and data files. For example
  47.         C:\JOURNAL, see your DOS manual for information on creating
  48.         directories.
  49.  
  50.     2) Copy all of the Daily Journal files into your new Journal directory.
  51.         The files are : README.TXT, JOURNAL.EXE, and JOURNAL.HLP
  52.  
  53.     3) Add the following lines to your WIN.INI file.  Refer to your Windows
  54.         manual for information on editing the WIN.INI file.  Replace the
  55.         name "myjrn" in the following lines with a Journal name of your
  56.         choice. Be sure to include the full path and directory names.

  64.     4) Add the Daily Journal program to your Windows desktop or RUN the file
  65.         JOURNAL.EXE from the FILE menu in Windows.
